The Kitchener Panthers and Guelph Royals will open their 2019 Intercounty Baseball League season against each other on May 11.
The league released the schedule this week, which has the Highway 7 rivals meeting on the second Saturday in May at Hastings Stadium at 1 p.m.
It’s part of a home-and-home weekend as the two teams meet again the next day at Jack Couch Park at 2 p.m.
The IBL season is made up of a 36-game schedule with weekends taking up a large majority. Most games are played on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday.

The Panthers finished the 2018 season with a record of 24-12 and lost the championship to the Barrie Baycats.
Guelph ended the season with a 16-20 record.
