If you happened to witness a face-off between two drivers on the Highway 417 off-ramp at Terry Fox Drive on Saturday evening, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) want to hear from you.
The two men allegedly involved were driving a blue BMW car and a white Chevrolet Cruze, OPP said on Monday.
Provincial police claim the two drivers stopped their cars on the off-ramp and “became involved in an altercation” around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, describing it as a “road-rage incident.”
One of the men sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital and later released, the OPP’s Ottawa detachment said in a news release.
The OPP have since charged the other driver with assault causing bodily harm. The man was released on a promise to appear in court on April 3, provincial police said.
The drivers were reportedly travelling westbound on the highway before exiting at Terry Fox Drive in the Kanata area.
The OPP’s investigation into the incident continues. Any witnesses are asked to contact 613-270-9171 or 1-888-310-1122.
