Arkells’ music video nominated for Prism Prize

The video for the band’s song “People’s Champ, which features the Arkells dancing on the tables of Grandad’s Donuts in Hamilton’s North End, prancing down the lanes of Martin’s Bowling Alley on King Street East, and throwing a party on an HSR bus, has been nominated for the $15,000 Prism Prize.

It is awarded to the top Canadian music video as selected by a jury of more than 120 music, film and media-arts professionals.

The videos are judged on originality, style, creativity, innovation and effective execution.

Other artists among the Top 20 nominees are: Drake, the Weather Station, Chad VanGaalen, Said the Whale, Daniel Caesar, deadmau5, and Jessie Reyez.

The Prism Prize winner will be announced Monday, May 13, in Toronto.
