Thursday
-28 is around what it’ll feel like with wind chill as you’re heading out the door Thursday morning under mostly cloudy skies.
An arctic high-pressure system building in will clear skies out during the day, bringing back some sunshine as temperatures climb up to around -15 degrees for an afternoon high.
Friday
A frigid final Friday of February is on tap as the arctic high lingers over the area and keep skies clear, allowing the mercury to dive down to around -25 with wind chills dipping into the mid -30s.
Warmer air will slide back in during the day under mostly sunny skies with an afternoon high around -13 degrees.
Weekend outlook
The next system and coupled cold front will sweep in on Saturday, bringing in some snow and then dropping daytime highs from the minus teens for the first half of the weekend, back into the -20s on Sunday.
Skies will also clear out, marking a return to some sunshine to finish the final weekend of February as one more blast of arctic air dives in with -30 degree overnight lows and extreme -40 wind chills to finish the month.
