Police are looking for a man who broke into a home in Windsor, N.S., and threatened a woman inside with a knife, all while two children were sleeping in a different room.

Windsor District RCMP says just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, a woman heard a noise in the kitchen and when she went to see who it was, she found a man standing in her kitchen.

Police say he was wearing black clothing from head to toe, with dark sunglasses and a ski mask covering his face.

The man demanded several times to know where another resident of the home was, and when the woman repeatedly told him that person wasn’t home, he pulled a knife out of his pocket and held it towards her,” police said in a news release Thursday.

After the woman pulled her phone out of her pocket, the man ran from the home the same way he came in, according to police. No one was hurt.

Police are looking for a five-foot-six white man with a slim build. Police say he was wearing black shoes and a black hoodie, and spoke with a raspy voice.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Windsor District RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
