Win streak hits 5 games, Saskatoon Blades double up Medicine Hat Tigers

WATCH ABOVE: The Saskatoon Blades winning streak hits five games with a 6-3 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers.

The Saskatoon Blades extended their winning streak to five games after doubling up the Medicine Hat Tigers 6-3 on Wednesday in Western Hockey League (WHL) action.

The win also extended the Blades (35-13-8-0) consecutive game point streak to 11 games.

Max Gerlach led the way for Saskatoon with two goals. He now has 35 on the year, matching his career high set last season, and extended his point streak to 12 games.

Ryan Hughes, Eric Florchuk, Tristen Robins, and Chase Wouters also scored for the Blades.

Defenceman Dawson Davidson had three assists to extend his point streak to 14 games. Davidson leads WHL defencemen in scoring with 64 points (10 goals, 54 assists).

Nolan Maier made 25 saves to pick up the win.

James Hamblin, Nick McCarry, and Ryan Jevne scored for the Tigers (31-19-3-2).

Mads Sogaard made 22 saves on 28 shots for Medicine Hat before being pulled in the third period. Jordan Hollett stopped all five shots he faced.

The Blades are now 10 points up on the Moose Jaw Warriors in the battle for second place in the East Division.

Saskatoon continues their three-game road trip on Friday when they travel to Cranbrook for a final time to take on the Kootenay Ice.

The Ice are moving to Winnipeg for the 2019-20 season.
