Saskatchewan man puts ‘ASSMAN’ decal on truck after licence plate denied

A Saskatchewan man has found a way around rejection, in a bigger and bolder way than what was originally planned.

David Assman wanted to get his last name on a personalized licence plate, but Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) denied his request because people may find it offensive.

Assman recently posted a photo to Facebook of an “ASSMAN” decal on his truck’s tailgate, which resembles a Saskatchewan licence plate.

“I could have got a plate for the front but I really wanted a vanity plate on the back of my truck,” Assman wrote in the Facebook post.

SGI said it took no issue in this case.

Assman also posted on Facebook that he appealed SGI’s decision, but was again denied shortly after.
