The Kingston police K9 unit tracked down two men who allegedly cut and stole rail line wires near Joyceville, Ont.
On Feb. 5., police were tipped off to the alleged rail tampering after train service was disrupted due to issues with signals at Findlay Station.
Police say that rail workers discovered several sections of wires had been cut and removed.
According to a Kingston police news release, one worker then contacted police when they found an abandoned vehicle parked next to a signal control building.
Just after noon the same day, the Kingston police K9 unit tracked two men several hundred metres along the railway, over a fence and through a wooded area in an open field, where police say they were hiding in some bushes.
The 56-year-old man and 57-year-old man, both from Kingston, were jointly charged with mischief over $5,000 and theft.
