Fatal shooting in Cambridge was likely ‘targeted’: police

Waterloo Regional Police believe that a recent fatal shooting in Cambridge was a targeted killing.

Police said Monday that four people were seen fleeing a home on Southwood Drive after Kurt McKechnie was gunned down last Thursday.

Police say that McKechnie knew the four people.

Police found McKechnie at the home suffering from serious injuries around 6:25 a.m. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A day later, a post-mortem was conducted which confirmed that he was killed by gunshot wounds.
