The owner of a Nova Scotia grocery store says it’s a miracle nobody was hurt after a vehicle drove right through the store until it hit the back of the building.

The incident happened at around 3 p.m. Friday, during a busy time at the Foodland store on Nova Scotia Trunk 1 in Saulnierville, N.S.

Owner Aline Comeau says the vehicle came through the front glass and only stopped when it hit a cooler display.

She describes how people had to jump out of the way.

“Some people had to get aside so the car would go by,” she said.

Meanwhile, crews are busy cleaning up the store’s merchandise and putting up a temporary door. A photo on Facebook shows items strewn on the floor, along with broken shelves and display units.

“Everything is in shambles,” she said.

“It’s a mess but it’s material things. Nobody got hurt, so that’s the main thing.”
