The United Conservative Party’s Devin Dreeshen is running to become the MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake for the second time in less than a year. Dreeshen first gained a seat in the Alberta legislature when he won a 2018 byelection in the riding.

History
The United Conservative incumbent in Innisfail-Sylvan Lake, Devin Dreeshen, was first elected as the legislative member for the riding in a byelection in 2018.
Don MacIntyre won the seat in the 2015 election as a member of the Wildrose Party. He later became a member of the United Conservatives when the Wildrose Party merged with the Progressive Conservative Party.
MacIntyre stepped down from his seat in February when he was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. He pleaded guilty to sexual interference in 2019 and the sexual assault charge was withdrawn.
