EDMONTON – After a three-month investigation, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) have seized drugs and weapons and laid numerous charges against a woman and three men.

On April 14th, ALERT’s Grande Prairie Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) executed a search warrant with the help of Grande Prairie RCMP and its Police Dog Services Unit.

That search warrant led to the seizure of 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, 500 grams of methamphetamine, and over $1,000 cash.

Combined, officials say the drugs have an estimated street value of over $223,000.

The team also seized three long-barreled firearms, two of which were sawed off.

Four Grande Prairie residents are now facing charges.

Scott Adam McKay, 31, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and three counts of failure to comply with a recognizance.
