A 29-year-old London man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for parole violations stemming from a 2013 manslaughter conviction has been arrested in Victoria, B.C.
Victoria police say Rourke Desmanche was arrested just before 1 a.m. Sunday by a K9 officer who recognized him from his arrest warrant. He is being held for court, police said.

Desmanche was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2013 after being convicted of manslaughter in the death of his 10-week-old son, Kurious George, who was shaken to death.

In a Facebook post, Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers said Desmanche had been given parole with supervision in Chilliwack, B.C., breached the conditions of his parole, and had not returned.
