Man arrested after stabbing in downtown Hamilton

Hamilton police have charged a 38-year-old man after a stabbing at a downtown Dollar Store.

The incident happened around 1230 p.m. Thursday at Barton and Mary Streets, and the suspect later surrendered to police.

They say the victim, a 66-year-old Norfolk County man is currently hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

At this time police believe this to be a random incident as the victim and accused had no prior history.
