The body of a missing Kingston man, who was last seen Oct. 4, was found Friday morning in Navy Bay.
Military police with the Royal Military College found Archie Zagrodney’s body around 9 a.m. on Friday morning.
Kingston police, along with the OPP dive team and an OPP helicopter were stationed at the Royal Military College over Tuesday and Wednesday combing Navy Bay for the body, but the search was unsuccessful.
Det. Sgt. Jay Finn said it’s clear that Zagrodney’s body had been submerged, and it must have floated to the surface sometime before Friday at 9 a.m.
Zagrodney was reported missing on Monday afternoon, although police believe he fell in the RMC Bay on Thurdsay, Oct. 4 around 5 p.m.
According to Finn, Zagrodney was a graduate of the military college back in the 1960s, and was often present on Thursday evenings at the military college for officer’s mess.
Finn says Zagrodney was last seen on RMC security footage standing on the college’s dock on Oct. 4.
The matter is now in the hands of Coroner.
A Facebook post written on Oct. 10 by Zagrodney’s daughter Tanya mourned the loss of her father.
“My Father was my world, he was my teacher and my mentor. He was my life line. And now he is gone. And my heart is torn.”
