Police make arrests at St. Vital condo complex

Police vehicles at condo complex on St. Anne's Rd.

A heavy police presence at a St. Vital condominium complex Monday afternoon had neighbours on edge and rush hour drivers rubber-necking.

Several Winnipeg police cruisers, plus a fire truck and ambulance were seen at Tree Top Village, a cluster of two-storey row houses in the 500 block of St. Anne’s Rd just south of Bishop Grandin Boulevard.

Residents tell Global News officers with their guns drawn surrounded one of the homes, and were heard on a megaphone asking a person inside to contact them. Witnesses say they saw two people taken into custody.

There did not appear to be any injuries, but no one from the Police Service was available to provide details.

No one from the Winnipeg Police Service was immediately available to provide information on what officers were doing at the location, or if there had been any arrests.
