There may be a connection between a recent theft of guns and last weekend’s shootings in Princeton.

Two people were shot to death and one person was seriously injured Saturday at a residence on Old Hedley Road.

Police have made an arrest.

The gun theft occurred last February at a Princeton residence where several long-barrel firearms were taken.

The guns were recovered days later after police executed a search warrant at a residence occupied by a known prolific offender.  A woman and another male suspect were also charged.

The firearms were returned to their rightful owner last week.

Global Okanagan News has been told that the guns belonged to the man who was arrested in connection with last weekend’s shootings.

The shooting victims are said to be the three people charged in connection with the gun theft.   A friend has identified the deceased as Keith Wharton and his girlfriend Rose Fox.  Both were dealing with addiction issues.

A police car is parked outside the residence of the man who owned the guns.

The talk of the town is the man, identified as John, is the shooter and that the killings were in retaliation for the theft of the guns back in February. Drugs may also be involved.

Police have yet to confirm the reports.
