Man arrested in attempted sexual assault investigation near Edmonton

An Alberta man was arrested Tuesday night after a woman reported for an alleged attempted sexual assault near Edmonton.

A woman told police she was running in the area of Onoway at around 9 p.m. when she saw a white cube van following her. She said a man got out of the van wearing a mask and started chasing her.

The woman said she was able to get away and call for help after a struggle.

RCMP were able to find the van believed to have been used during the incident and a 23-year-old man from Stony Plain was arrested, police said.

His identity hasn’t been released.
