A man from Barrie is facing charges after a single-vehicle collision on Highway 89.

According to Nottawasaga OPP, just before noon on Saturday, police received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 89 near Concession Road 5 in Adjala Tosorontio Township.

Police say a vehicle was on the shoulder of the road and had damage to the front end.

According to police, investigators found the driver had been consuming alcohol.

Officers say the driver, a 22-year-old man from Barrie, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in his blood.

Police say the man’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

According to police, the accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford at a later date.
