Second-degree murder charge in northern Saskatchewan death

Police in northern Saskatchewan have charged a man with second-degree murder in the death of another man.

Southend RCMP were called to a home in the community early Friday morning for a report of an unresponsive man.

Garrett Morin, 33, was pronounced dead after responding officers and medical staff attempted live-saving measures on him.

A cause of death has not been released.

Bradley Jobb, 34, was arrested later the same morning and charged in Morin’s death.

Police said Morin and Jobb were known to each other.

Morin is scheduled to appear Tuesday morning in La Ronge provincial court.

Southend RCMP, along with the RCMP major crimes unit north, Prince Albert forensic identification section, and the coroner’s office, continue to investigate.

Southend is roughly 600 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
