The Canadian Safe Boating Council (CSBC) and provincial police are reminding boaters to be safe and stay clear of alcohol when taking to the waters this holiday weekend.
In an effort to raise awareness and reduce alcohol- and drug-related deaths, the CSBC and the OPP are launching “Operation Dry Water” for the sixth consecutive year.
Police say drinking and boating accounts for approximately 40 per cent of boating-related fatalities on Canadian waterways.
