A 35-year-old Orillia man is facing several charges after police say he failed to stop for officers during a traffic stop.
According to Orillia OPP, on July 31 just after 7:30 p.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation, however, police say the driver failed to stop.
Police say a short while later, officers stopped the vehicle at Ashton Street and Louise Lane and the 35-year-old driver from Orillia was arrested.
According to police, the man is now facing several charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight while pursued by a peace officer and possession of a schedule I substance.
Officers say the man was wanted by police on several outstanding charges.
Police say the accused was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on Aug. 1.
