A kidnapping charge has been laid against four Manitobans who are accused of abducting a man in Swift Current, Sask., and taking him on a long drive back to their home province.

RCMP say the abduction occurred June 13 when two men allegedly forced the man from a home into a vehicle and drove away.

The alleged victim was able to escape from a residence in Brandon the next day and made his way back to Saskatchewan where he notified police of what had happened.

Police say the abduction was not a random act.

Robert Mark Ballingall, Christopher Steven Drover and Christopher Lee Roskam, all of Brandon, and David Denis Joss from Neepawa were arrested without incident in Brandon on Tuesday and face a court appearance in Saskatchewan.

Mounties say their investigation is ongoing.
