Battlefords RCMP are investigating a sudden death after a body was found on a highway south of Battleford, Sask.

A driver found the body of a man just after 4:15 a.m. CT Wednesday in the middle of Highway 4, roughly a kilometre south of the town.

Highway 4 is closed at the scene and traffic is being detoured.

Police said the detours will be in place for several hours and drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
