Woman dead in head-on crash north of Lloydminster

Maidstone RCMP say a 34-year-old woman is dead after a head-on collision roughly five kilometres north of Lloydminster.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Highway 17 at roughly 4:25 p.m. CT on July 15.

Investigators said a pickup truck and a minivan collided in the shoulder of the northbound lane.

The driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released by police.

An 11-year-old girl from the van was taken to hospital for observation and has since been released.

The 81-year-old driver of the truck was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

RCMP said all those involved in the crash are from the Lloydminster area.

Traffic reconstruction and the provincial coroner’s office are assisting with the investigation.
