Man seriously injured after car and motorhome collide near Brechin

A Scarborough man was seriously injured and a Peterborough man suffered minor injuries after a car and motorhome collided on Saturday in Ramara Township.

Orillia OPP say the collision happened around 5:20 p.m. along Highway 12 near Brechin when a small car struck the motorhome.

Police say the 42-year-old driver of the car was transported to a Toronto-area hospital via Air Ornge with life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, police said he remains in hospital.

The driver of the motorhome, a 71-year-old Peterborough man, was transported to an Orillia-area hospital by County of Simcoe Paramedic Services with minor injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours as OPP investigated. The cause of the collision has yet to be determined.
