A motorcyclist has received a jail sentence on Wednesday of almost two years – 21 months – after filming himself riding one-handed on public roads at speeds of more than 300 kilometres-per-hour.
The videos were taken by 26-year-old Adam Campion of Nottinghamshire, England and show him driving through red lights, driving on the wrong side of the road, pulling wheelies, weaving in and out of traffic and filming his own speedometer as he sped past a car on the road. Much of this was done at a top speed of 304 km/h, or 189 miles-per-hour.
According to Reuters, police found the videos after executing a search warrant at Campion’s address in September 2016. The Mirror reports a licence plate found in an abandoned car was connected to a stolen motorbike linked to the 26-year-old.

He was identified using facial recognition techniques by police, The Independent reports.
“The illegal and dangerous use of motorcycles is a massive issue to our communities, and although this investigation was immensely complex and time consuming, the result in court has been satisfying,” Nottinghamshire police inspector Glenn Longden told The Mirror. “I hope this prison sentence will make those who think it is acceptable to put themselves and others in danger by driving dangerously think twice.

Campion pleaded guilty to five charges of dangerous driving and one charge of assisting an offender in the retention of stolen goods at Nottingham Crown Court.
Police say they are still trying to identify the other motorcyclists in the videos.
