Motorcycle driver killed in southern Alberta collision

A 65-year-old Calgary man is dead after a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV Sunday afternoon in the Municipal District of Foothills.

The collision happened at around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 552 West and 274 Avenue West, the RCMP said in a news release Monday.

RCMP said the motorcycle driver died at the scene and the driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital to be assessed for injuries.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, but they don’t believe alcohol and drugs were factors in the collision.
