The Grand River Conservation Authority is asking residents and businesses to cut back on their water use due to the hot and dry weather southern Ontario has been experiencing.
The Grand River watershed has been placed in a Level 1 condition which comes with a request for a voluntary 10 per cent reduction in water consumption.
Guelph moved its water usage program to Level 1 Yellow earlier this week.
The conservation authority said some parts of the watershed have not recorded any rain since the last week of June.

The major reservoirs are within their normal operating range for this time of year, according to a statement released on Thursday.
Environment Canada said the short-term weather forecast shows limited rain and hot temperatures over the next week.
