Niagara residents charged with murder after remains of 2 people found near Haliburton

Two Niagara-area residents have been charged with murder after the remains of two St. Catharines residents were found south of Haliburton in late January.

The remains were found on Jan. 21, along Glamour Lake Road, about 23 kilometres south of Haliburton.

Police say an autopsy determined they were the victims of foul play.

The remains were identified as Ghislain (Justin) Robichaud, 34, and Deidra Ann Smith, 35, both of St. Catharines, Ont.

On Wednesday, police said three people were arrested in connection to the double-homicide investigation.

Jesse James Wallace, 36, and Lindsay Elisabeth Luise Ainsworth, 37, both of St. Catharines, are each charged with two counts of second-degree murder and committing an indignity to human remains.

Alexis Adele Yorke, 36, of St. Catharines, is charged with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder.

They all appeared in court in St. Catharines on Wednesday.
