Cochrane RCMP asked drivers to take another route, as Highway 22 was impassable in both directions.

Traffic was rerouted onto Township Road 252 to Jumping Pound Road for access to Highway 1. Highway 22 reopened at around 3:30 p.m.

As RCMP were on scene of the crash, a second three-vehicle collision happened about 100 metres away from the first. Three people were involved in this crash, with two being taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
