Toronto police are investigating after a man was fatally shot inside an apartment on Sherboune Street early Monday. The shooting caps off a violent 72 hours in the city. Mark Carcasole has more – Jun 25, 2018

Toronto police say a suspect wanted for first-degree murder in a recent shooting at a downtown apartment building has been charged.

Mark Thompson, the second man wanted in the death of 41-year-old Brent Young, was arrested on Thursday, police said.

Emergency crews were called to a building in the Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East area after 2:30 a.m. on June 25. Officers found a 41-year-old man inside an apartment with gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as Young, died at the scene.

Warren Farrell, 26, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder later that week. Police announced a second suspect, Mark Thompson, was outstanding.

Thompson, 39, was also charged with first-degree murder. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

Toronto police are continuing to appeal to the public for information in the case. They are asking anyone who may have seen the two men between the evening of June 24 and the morning of  June 25 to reach out to investigators.
