Officials were notified of the attack Monday afternoon. A Facebook post on a page dedicated to the Mantario Trail says a man was bitten on the back of his leg by a bear that snuck up on him.

Conservation officers searched the area for the bear but did not locate it. They also told hikers still on the trail of the attack and closure.
