Saskatoon police vehicle damaged by falling guard rail off CP Train Bridge

A portion of Spadina Crescent was closed to traffic after a section of guard rail fell off the CP Train Bridge and onto a Saskatoon police vehicle.

Police were called to the bridge just after 11:15 a.m. Wednesday for a report sections of the guard rail were hanging.

One section fell on the police vehicle while an officer was investigating. No injuries were reported.

CP Rail was consulted and a decision was made to close the Train Bridge to pedestrians, and restrict traffic driving underneath it, for public safety reasons.

All traffic restrictions have since been lifted, however, pedestrian access to the bridge is still restricted.

CP police are on scene to ensure public safety on the bridge while repairs are made to the guard rail.
