Having your phone run out of battery power is not fun.
There are ways you can make your phone run longer on one charge.C

One of the cellphone Achilles Heals is that they can
quickly drain your battery in bad reception areas like a basement, shopping
centre of classroom.

The quickest way to save on your cellphone battery is to
turn all “radios” off, like the cellular network, Bluetooth and Wifi. In fact,
a quick way to do that is to put your phone in “Airplane Mode”.

You won’t be getting any messages or updates but your
battery will not drain as fast.

On example of saving battery energy is when going to the
movies or theatre. Putting your cellphone in airplane mode, not just silent,
will easily boost your battery life by 25 per cent, the amount of energy a
cellphone will use trying to find a better connection in a poor location.

Other ways to save battery energy is to have your email
update less frequently, instead of all the time, or every ten minutes, choose
every hour instead.

Motorola has the most innovative power saving features,
only available in its newest RAZR smartphone.

Called Smart Actions. One of its many features is the Low
Battery Saver Smart Action which kicks in when your battery gets low (under
20%), making it last significantly longer by allowing smart actions to:

– Dim your screen

– Turn off GPS

– Suspend background updates

– Custom data/Internet settings

Smart Actions optimizes a consumers phone so it’s always
running in peak performance, automating repeated tasks, and aligning the
behavior of their device to match their current goals, needs, and environment.
Smart Actions provides suggestions to consumers about rules that may optimize
their device and also allows complete customization.

Examples of Basic Smart Actions include:

– Home Rule — custom settings for inside , like WiFi.

– Work Rule — settings to increase productivity, remove unwanted
distractions

– Gym Rule — opens music automatically when headphones
are plugged in (I personally love this one!)

– Sleep Mode — switch to alarm clock mode, sounds off

– Commute — automatically launch maps when docked in the
car

An example of how Smart Actions could work in someone’s
day:

At the gym, phone turns off ringer, turns up display,
turns on Music app.

Missed call from friend, sends an auto-text letting them
know you’ll call right back.

Once home, turn the ringer up, dim the display and
switches to personal homescreen widgets.
