Waterloo Regional Police say a crossing guard was taken to hospital with serious injuries on Thursday morning after she was hit by a car in Kitchener.
It happened at the intersection of Westmount Road and Greenbrook Drive just before 9 a.m.
Reports from the scene indicate the woman was helping children cross the intersection at the time of the collision.

No one else was hurt in the incident.
The road in the area was blocked off by police tape for the investigation.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, but police said it’s too early in the investigation to say if any charges will be laid.
