The Turcot Interchange has reopened after a piece of concrete fell, forcing two ramps leading to westbound Highway 20 to close early Tuesday morning.

The ramps from the Decarie Expressway and Highway 15 north were closed as a preventative measure at 5:15 a.m.

An inspector was onsite Tuesday near Pullman Street, where the piece fell, to make sure there were no other unstable parts of the structure.

“It’s very complex. There are 300,000 cars every day,” said Martin Girard, Transports Quebec spokesperson.
“You have the old structure to maintain, to make sure people can drive and use it and also build the new structure.”

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.
