The RCMP are warning Langley residents to be vigilant after a woman became the victim of a serious sexual assault as she took out her trash in Aldergrove on Tuesday night.
Police said a woman in the area was taking out the trash at 9:30 p.m. when an unknown male grabbed her from behind, took her into her home and assaulted her, said a news release.

The Langley RCMP are now looking for bedding that was taken from the crime scene.
Police said the victim’s purse is also believed to have been taken; it’s described as grey with silver trimmings.
The woman was taken to hospital and is “understandably traumatized,” police said.
Officers will canvas the area to find the missing sheets, the purse and any other potential evidence, they added.
“It goes without saying that this incident is very disturbing,” Langley RCMP Supt. Murray Power said in a statement.
“I can’t stress enough how important it is for residents to be hyper vigilant and always cognizant of their surroundings.
“If you see someone suspicious in your neighbourhood — call the police. This type of assault affects the safety and security of the entire community.”
