Kingston police say a 31-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly broke the conditions of his probation to satisfy a late-night craving for a burger.
On April 3, around 10 p.m. a patrol officer observed a vehicle in the drive-thru of a chain restaurant on Division Street. Police could not confirm the exact location of the restaurant.
According to police, the officer knew the passenger in the car should not have been at that particular location. Police say that the suspect had previously been banned from that specific restaurant, but they could not communicate why he was prohibited from visiting the property.

The patrol officer then stopped the vehicle on Weller Avenue, and as the officer approached he found the man eating a burger from the restaurant.

The man did not give a reason why he returned to the location where he was banned, or why he didn’t go to any of the other locations of that same chain where he was free to attend.
Police added that methamphetamines were found during a search of the suspect.
The accused was charged with possession of a controlled drug, two counts of breach undertaking, and breach probation.
