Toronto police have revealed the results of a post-mortem exam in the case of a man found dead last week after falling nine storeys down a garbage chute.
Toronto police say that the victim died of blunt impact trauma, suggesting he didn’t meet with foul play.
“The injuries are consistent with having traversed the garbage chute,” Const. Jenifferjit Sidhu told Global News via email.
Emergency crews were called to the building on 140 Erskine Ave. after 10:10 p.m. last Wednesday. The man was found at the bottom of the chute above the compactor. Equipment had to be taken apart to remove him. He was found with no vital signs and declared dead at the scene.
Toronto police said at the time that they did not believe foul play was involved, but officers were probing other possibilities.
