Foul play not suspected in death of woman admitted to hospital with ‘significant injuries’

Foul play is not suspected in the death of a woman admitted to hospital Tuesday with “significant injuries” who later died, Calgary police said Thursday.

Police added that while the death is no longer considered suspicious, the investigation is ongoing.

Police were contacted at about 7 p.m. Tuesday after a woman was admitted earlier in the day with injuries that were “suspicious in nature.”

She died in hospital at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said in a Wednesday release the homicide unit was called to investigate.

An autopsy conducted Thursday ruled the cause of death is undetermined.

A home in the 3500 block of 49 Street N.W. that investigators were previously holding had been released as of Thursday.
