Research is underway at the University of Saskatchewan on watermain breaks and preventing them. Eric Beck/Global News

SASKATOON – A Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory (PWDA) has been lifted in Saskatoon after strenuous testing confirmed the water supply system is safe.

The PWDA was issued after a primary water main break north of 42nd Street on Friday. The break was fixed that evening.

As a precaution, the city issued a PDWA while waiting for bacteriological tests to come back negative in the water supply system.
