2 dead in Highway 16 crash southeast of Saskatoon

Two people are dead after a crash on Highway 16 southeast of Saskatoon.

Saskatoon RCMP said an eastbound pickup truck collided with another pickup truck heading west just after 8:30 p.m. CT Wednesday five kilometres east of Colonsay.

Both drivers were declared dead at the scene. Their names are not being released by police.

Traffic in the area was restricted while a collision reconstructionist investigated. Those restrictions have since been lifted.

RCMP and the coroner’s office continues to investigate.

Colonsay is roughly 55 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.
