New Brunswick RCMP are investigating a fatal house fire on Middlesex Road in Colpitts Settlement, N.B.

The Southeast District RCMP say police and fire services from Salisbury, Petitcodiac and Havelock responded to a house fire at approximately 2:35 a.m. on Wednesday.

When they arrived on scene the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Police say the body of a 59-year-old man from Colpitts Settlement was located inside the home once the fire was extinguished.

Officials do not believe the fire or the death of the man to be suspicious.

RCMP and the fire marshal’s office continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
