Executive director Lynne Skromeda says a diverse lineup is their focus every year.
“Having lots of different kinds of things that you never otherwise get a chance to see in Winnipeg. That’s part of our mandate, a discovery element to the festival is really important.
“You may not know a lot of names on the roster, but they’ll become your next favourite band.”
The lineup also includes 36 female artists or bands with women in them performing.
Early bird tickets are available until April 30 at the festival’s website, winnipegfolkfestival.ca.
