Toronto police say a 55-year-old man, who was previously employed as a janitor at Toronto Western Hospital and was fired after he was arrested for child sexual abuse offences, is facing additional charges.
Police said more than one victim came forward after authorities announced the arrest of Terrence Noftall in January.
Investigators said nine charges in total were laid against the accused on Feb. 8 and March 5, including sexual interference, accessing child pornography, sexual assault and breach of prohibition order.
Police said Noftall met one of the victims at the Bee Happy Family Campground in Innisifl, Ont., between 2005 and 2009 where it is believed he regularly visited starting in around the year 2000.

Det. Const. Alexandra Marks said the accused also communicated with children through social media between 2016 and 2017.
“Throughout our investigation it was determined that in recent years Terrence Noftall used social media to communicate with some of the young people involved,” Marks said.
“On Facebook his account name Terrence Lee Noftall and on Instagram his username is tnoftall with a vanity name Terrence N.”

Marks said the accused did not misrepresent himself on his social media accounts.
“His usernames and Facebook profiles seem to be the true representation of the person,” Marks said.
Police said Noftall’s initial arrest in January involved a child he befriended after meeting a woman in 2012 while working at the hospital.

Investigators allege he showed the child pornography, sexually assaulted the child and had inappropriate communications with the child.
He was then charged with eight offences, including invitation to sexual touching, sexual interference, sexual assault, luring a child under 18 and making child pornography.
Meanwhile, Global News has learned that Terrence Noftall’s sister, Tracey Noftall, is a manager at the University Health Network (UHN) and worked at UHN when Noftall got his job at Toronto Western Hospital in 2009. Toronto Western Hospital is part of the University Health Network.

Global News has also learned Terrence was hired part-time, just months after being convicted of sexual interference for which he was sentenced to 251 days in jail in pre-trial custody and 30 more days. At the time of sentencing, he was also placed on the sex offender registry for ten years and given a Section 161 prohibition order. The order usually involves conditions like staying away from children.
A Global News investigation discovered Terrence was a registered sex offender who failed to disclose his prior conviction to the hospital. The hospital admitted it never performed a criminal background check.

A number of employees from UHN contacted Global News anonymously to say they believe Tracey may have had a hand in getting Terrence the job and also question why she did not report his conviction to the hospital, as per UHN policy. The organization would not comment on Tracey’s involvement in this case or whether they’re investigating her role in her brother’s employment.
“As I’ve said before we do not comment on any matters of individual employment and will not be commenting on this case,” Gillian Howard, UHN’s vice president of public affairs and communications, said in an email to Global News.
