3 B.C. residents charged in Saskatoon drug bust

Three people from Kelowna, B.C., are facing trafficking charges after a drug bust in Saskatoon.

Police initially stopped a westbound vehicle on Highway 16 late Monday morning and arrested a 71-year-old man for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Members of the Saskatoon integrated drug enforcement street team (SIDEST) then searched a hotel room in the 100-block of Circle Drive West late in the afternoon.

Officers said they seized over 5,00 pills including codeine, diazepam, and meth, along with cell phones, packaging used for drug distribution, marijuana sales documentation and over $13,000.

A 40-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were arrested.

All three are facing 13 charges including possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
