WINNIPEG – The Manitoba Moose are getting some temporary help between the pipes.
The Winnipeg Jets assigned goalie Steve Mason to the Moose for a conditioning assignment on Saturday.
Mason, 29, has been out of the Jets’ lineup since January 9 after he suffered his second concussion of the season. He’s only appeared in 11 games with the Jets this season where he has a 3-6-1 record with a 3.52 goals against average and a .897 save percentage.

Mason is expected to start in net for the Moose later on Saturday when they host the Iowa Wild at Bell MTS Place. It’ll be Mason’s first AHL game since the 2008-2009 season when he played in three games with the Syracuse Crunch.
The Jets start a six game road trip on Sunday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
