11-year-old boy dies after being struck by vehicle in Scarborough

An 11-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough on Tuesday evening.

Toronto police said officers responded to a call about a pedestrian struck in the area of Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue, around 3:30 p.m.

The boy was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later succumbed to his injuries, Const. Clint Stibbe confirmed to Global News.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
