Saskatchewan Rush deal for NLL legend Dan Dawson

The Saskatchewan Rush have made a trade for a National Lacrosse League (NLL) legend.

The Rush acquired forward Dan Dawson, the league’s fifth all-time leading scorer, from the Rochester Knighthawks for a 2019 second-round draft pick belonging to the Vancouver Stealth and the Rush’s third-round draft pick in 2020.

Dawson, 36, is fourth all-time in assists (802), fifth in both goals (469) and points (1,271), and holds the holds the NLL’s ironman streak, playing in 234 straight-games between 2002 and 2016.

He has nine goals and 17 assists in eight games with the Knighthawks this season.

Dawson was named the 2014 Champions Game MVP, scoring three goals and five assists as the Knighthawks won their second-straight championship.
